“It’s a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you’re ready.
I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything.
There is almost no such thing as ready.
There is only now.
And you may as well do it now.
Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any”.
I’ll never forget the woman I saw on the bottom steps of a villa in Genoa, Italy crying that she can’t go on.
Don’t wait to retire.
Many of my family members, friends, and coworkers never made it to retirement.
Others have medical or financial issues that doesn’t enable them to travel.
Go now while the spirit, and more importantly; the body is willing.
Many countries don’t have anything like the U.S. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), so there are a lot less wheelchair ramps, escalators and elevators around.
Also, even if one is in relatively good shape; travel can take a lot out of you.
But more is usually given back!
‘The clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power to tell just when the hands will stop, at late or early hour.
Now is the only time you own.
Live, love, toil with a will.
Place no faith in time.
For the clock may soon be still.’
